Michigan’s Most Wanted Escapees Are (Mostly) Senior Citizens
I looked at a list of the most wanted escapees for Michigan and was shocked to see that most of the people on the lam were senior citizens.
Two Lists You Never Want to Be On
One of the two lists you never want to be on is the most wanted list. There are a few of them like Michigan's most wanted and the FBI's most wanted. People who make either or both of these lists, usually wind up getting caught and looking at hard time.
If you are running from the law, you don't want to be on the FBI's most-wanted list simply because every law enforcement office in the entire United States will have your picture which makes it tougher to relocate when on the lam.
Michigan has another list of the state's most wanted, but this one features escapees, and what is crazy about this list is that most that are on it are senior citizens.
Michigan’s Most Wanted Escapees Are (Mostly) Senior Citizens
The Michigan Department of Corrections and a most wanted escapees list. There are currently 22 escapees on this list. Some of the people on the list either have sketches of their photos or no photos at all which might make it tough to identify them.
Either it was easier to escape from jail or prison back in the day or the older criminals are smarter than the young ones, but most of the people on Michigan's Most Wanted Escapee list are senior citizens.
The youngest criminal on the list is Donald Andrew Tynes who escaped from Muskegon and is 61 years old. Tynes is wanted for drug offenses and escaping which goes back to May 26, 1991. I included this guy because he might be the only one on the list you might recognize since he is from West Michigan.
The oldest escapee on the list is Antonio Vasquez Torres who is now 84. My guess is his hair is a lot whiter now and he probably has less of it if he's even still alive. Torres got busted on a few drug charges and escaped the Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center prison.
The average age of the 22 people on the MDOC most wanted escapee list is 70. They are all wanted for escaping as well as charges ranging from armed robbery, drug-related, b & e, assault, white collar crimes, and even weapons charges like Buzz N. Walker seen in the picture above who is now 81 years old.
I do have to point out that the second youngest escapee on the list is 64-year-old Robert H. Booker who escaped from a prison in Wayne County. Booker (pictured above) committed a crime no one can commit anymore. Booker is wanted for breaking into payphones, which don't even exist anymore. I wonder if there's some sort of statute of limitations on a crime that can no longer be committed.
If you happen to visit an old folks' home often or are just in a job where a lot of senior citizens frequent, you may want to click on this list of the MDOC's Most Wanted Escapee List and who knows you may recognize someone and maybe collect a reward.
