I stumbled across the Michigan Fiber Festival on social media, having never heard of it before, I was curious.

What is the Michigan Fiber Festival?

The Michigan Fiber Festival bills itself as the state's largest sheep and wool festival.

Organizers say their mission is to "promote the interests of individuals and or businesses related to natural fiber, to advance and continue high quality standards of business practice in the natural fiber area, and to further the development and knowledge within the fiber community."

When is Michigan Fiber Festival?

Michigan Fiber Festival is August 8-14 at the Allegan County Fairgrounds.

What to Expect at Michigan Fiber Festival?

At the Michigan Fiber Festival, you'll find numerous workshops Wednesday through Sunday on subjects like spinning yarn, knitting, crocheting, weaving, and more.

There will be shopping and demonstrations Friday through Sunday, and competitions as well.

Some of the shows include Angora Goats, Pygora Goats, Herding Dog Demonstrations, and Sheep Shearing.

There's also live music, kids crafts, a historical village, and food vendors.

How Much Does Michigan Fiber Festival Cost?

Kids 14 and under are free. For a one day pass for adults it's $5.00 and a three day pass is $10.

Note that workshop and competition entry fees vary by event.

There's also camping at the festival, which is first come, first served.
