Once again, a Michigan destination is in the national spotlight, battling it out to be the best summer travel destination in the U.S. It's been voted No. 1 three years in a row...can we make it happen again?

USA Today and 10Best's travel editors teamed up with a panel of experts and chose 20 must-see places for a summer vacation, including everything "from picturesque national parks to sleepy mountain towns to breathtakingly beautiful beaches." Now it's up to a public vote to determine the top ten.

Mackinac Island is up for the honor! 

Known for its fudge and horse-drawn carriages, Mackinac Island on the shores of Lake Huron is definitely a Michigan summertime favorite.

There's Mackinac Island State Park, where you can hike, bike, kayak, and take photos of the local natural beauty, including the stunning limestone Arch Rock. It's full of historic and award-winning hotels like the Grand Hotel.
