Mackinac Island has officially been named the No. 1 summer destination in America for the fourth straight year in USA TODAY’s annual 10Best readers’ poll.
In August of 2007 a plane left from Mackinac Island, bound for Bad Axe, Michigan, when it disappeared from radar. 17 Years later it's been found along with skeletal remains.
A panel of experts chose 20 lakes across the U.S. known for their fishing, boating, swimming, water sports, wildlife, and scenic views. It was put up to a public vote and three Great Lakes made the top ten!
