One Michigan Apple Orchard Competing to Be the Best in America
When it comes to fall traditions in Michigan, heading out to an orchard for fresh fruit, hayrides, and warm cider donuts is practically mandatory.

The latest USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Poll is live, aiming to crown the single Best Apple Orchard in the United States. A panel of food and travel writers chose twenty top nominees from coast to coast, evaluating everything from pick-your-own varieties to family entertainment, bakeries, and overall seasonal atmosphere.

That lone Michigan nominee holding down the fort for us is Knaebe’s Apple Farm in Rogers City.
Also fondly known as Knaebe’s Mmmunchy Krunchy Apple Farm, this northern Michigan spot started back in 1985 when Doc and Dusty Knaebe planted their very first trees. Over the decades, it has expanded into a massive fall retreat complete with a bakery, a petting zoo, barrel train rides for kids, and a tasting room featuring wood-fired pizza and craft hard cider.
