The Kent County Sheriff's office is investigating an increase in thefts from construction sites in the area.

According to police, approximately $23,000.00 worth of trailers, tools, and construction materials have been stolen from different job sites since the beginning of the month.

The main targets are housing developments and larger remodeling projects.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office is encouraging residents in the new developments to call police if they see anything suspicious.

They also advise construction companies to install cameras on their job sites so law enforcement can quickly identify suspects.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to call the Kent County Sheriff's Office at 616-632-6125, or call Silent Observer at 616-774-2345 to report information safely and anonymously.
