City of Grand Rapids Hiring Lifeguards
Interested in being a lifeguard? Grand Rapids is looking to full and part-time lifeguards for summer 2025 at the three city pools:
- Briggs Park, 324 Knapp St. NE
- Martin Luther King Park, 1200 Franklin St. SE
- Richmond Park, 963 Richmond St. NW
The position is open to those 15 and older, and an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification is required.
The course normally costs $275, but for the fourth year, the City of Grand Rapids will waive the fee for anyone who works at a city pool this summer. The certification is valid for two years and teach skills like water rescue, CPR, AED, First Aid and more - so it's actually five different certifications you'll get after taking the course and passing your test!
To get the free certification, those who pass the multi-day course must work at a Grand Rapids City pool for the 2025 season.
