Chipotle Offering BOGO Deal to Tattooed Customers This Friday the 13th
If you’ve got a tattoo or even something that kind of looks like one, you might want to plan a Chipotle run this Friday.

To celebrate Friday the 13th, Chipotle Mexican Grill is bringing back a pretty unusual promotion: a one-hour buy-one-get-one free deal for anyone with a tattoo.
And before you start thinking, "Well great, I don’t have any tattoos," don’t worry, the rules are surprisingly relaxed.
How the Chipotle Tattoo BOGO Works
From 3 to 4 p.m. local time on Friday, March 13, customers who show up at participating Chipotle restaurants with any kind of tattoo can unlock the BOGO offer on entrées. That includes permanent ink, temporary tattoos, or even something you quickly draw on yourself. Yes, technically you could grab a Sharpie, doodle a tiny burrito on your arm, and walk in to score the deal.

Honestly, for people like me who never committed to actual ink, this might be the easiest excuse ever to participate.
The promotion is inspired by the long-standing Friday the 13th “flash tattoo” tradition, when tattoo shops offer small, pre-designed tattoos for a discounted price to celebrate the spooky date. Chipotle is leaning into that culture and the internet meme about people being “tatted like a Chipotle bag.” (Never heard of it? Yeah, me either. I guess it kind of took off when it was used to describe Adam Levine of Maroon 5 a few years ago...)
There is also a celebrity tie-in with Swae Lee, who helped design a limited-edition sheet of temporary tattoos inspired by the doodles on Chipotle takeout bags. But unless you’re planning a quick flight to Miami, that part probably won’t affect you. Those designs are only being handed out at one restaurant there.
Michigan Chipotle Locations
Here in Michigan, the deal is much simpler: show up with a tattoo and bring a friend who wants free food. Their are 71 Chipotle locations throughout the state.

West Michigan has plenty of locations where you could try it, including restaurants in Grand Rapids, Wyoming, Holland, Kentwood, and Grandville. Of course, it’s always smart to call ahead to make sure your local Chipotle is participating, since the promotion is limited to participating restaurants.
Need to Know Details
A couple other important details:
- The offer is in-restaurant only
- It runs just one hour (3–4 p.m.) this Friday, March 13
- You must buy an entrée to get one free
The deal is limited to five free items per check
It’s also worth noting Chipotle tested a similar tattoo promotion last year and said it produced their highest sales ever during that mid-afternoon hour, which probably explains why they’re bringing it back.

So if you already have tattoos, congratulations, your life choices are about to pay off in burritos.
If you don’t, grab a marker, draw something questionable on your arm, and head to Chipotle.
