More B2 Outlet Stores Close For Good in West Michigan
The closures continue for a West Michigan discount store chain.
B2 Outlets is owned by Father and son team Duane and Matt Smith, who opened the first store in Hudsonville in 2013. The products they sell come from different big box stores that are liquidating excess, overstock, and seasonal merchandise.
The Smiths shared to Facebook in early December that the B2 Outlet Store on Apple Ave. in Muskegon permanently closed. The next day, they announced the closure of the B2 in Battle Creek. In January, the B2 store in Kalamazoo shut down.
Prior to that B2 also closed locations on on Lake Michigan Drive in Walker and on U.S. 10 in Ludington.
Other B2 stores in Michigan have also closed, including: Canton, Rochester Hills, and Lansing's Edgewood Boulevard.
Now another B2 location has shuttered. On Monday, February February 5, the Hastings B2 on 760 W State St. announced its permanent closure effective immediately, saying:
The challenges and complexities of navigating a sluggish retail economy has resulted in significant declined sales. This has impacted nearly every retailer and B2 is not immune... Although closing stores is never an easy decision, B2 has reached that point where closing a small number of stores is imperative. These closures will allow B2 to focus energies on remaining stores that can be profitable.
According to B2's website, locations are still open in Grand Rapids on Plainfield Avenue and on 28th St. (a different location than the one mentioned above), in Hudsonville, and Holland.
