This sign-stealing thing of U of M football keeps growing by the minute. And now some folks are taking it to a hilarious level.

We know the NCAA's inquiry into a sign-stealing scheme by Michigan's football program was triggered by an outside firm's investigation, according to Fox17. Evidence turned up with videos and documented plans and budgets for impermissible scouting of the Wolverines' opponents. It looks like multiple Michigan coaches were involved as well.

The outside firm presented evidence suggesting Connor Stalions, a low-level staffer now suspended by Michigan, wasn't the only one in the game, so to speak.

So, what do you think? Is there going to be any "piling on" as they say, by opponents?

Interestingly, Ohio State's head coach Ryan Day, didn't pile on at all. He simply suggested that the NCAA look into adding helmet communication, the wireless microphone, and speaker technology that has been used in the NFL for decades.

But that didn't stop the YouTube sketch comedy group, SEC Shorts, that follows College Football. They didn't let up at all.

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has denied any knowledge or involvement in impermissible scouting of opponents and there was no evidence presented to the NCAA directly linking Harbaugh to the scouting and sign-stealing scheme.

FYI, NCAA rules do not directly ban the stealing of signs, but there are rules against using electronic equipment to record an opponent’s signals and in-person, advanced scouting of future opponents in-season.

So it looks like they were purchasing tickets to the games of Michigan's opponents and sending people to obtain video of the sideline signals used for calling in plays. Oops!

Now what? We'll just have to see how it all plays out, or punt!
