How do you feel about this?

I did not know that Facebook has had a long-standing policy that bans anyone on the sex offender's list from creating or maintaining Facebook user accounts. The goal is to keep sexual predators from stalking online.

On June 19, the U. S. Supreme Court ruled that laws prohibiting access to social media sites such as Facebook are unconstitutional when applied to registered citizens who are no longer under any form of judicial sentencing such as probation or post-release supervision.

But NARSOL believes this is an unjust punishment for the people on the list. They also believe it's unjust to regulate where sex offenders can live.

They claim it's almost impossible for a person to function without access to social media, to be able to connect with friends and family, voice their opinions, exchange photos, or discuss ideas. They feel it's a violation of their First Amendment rights.
