With their fourth upset win of the tournament, Grand Valley State University Women's Basketball has advanced to the Final Four.

Last night, the Lakers beat 2-seed, #19 Pittsburg State, 59-56.

7-seed GVSU faces 2-seed, #4 Alaska Anchorage at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, SD, tonight at 9:30PM ET. The game can be viewed nationally on CBS Sports Network.

Teams are seeded differently in the NCAA DII Women's Tournament than in the DI Men's Tournament. There are still 64 teams, but eight teams earn a 1 seed and no teams are seeded lower than an 8. You can roughly compare GVSU's 7 seed to a 13 or 14 seed in the D1 men's tournament.

The winner of the GVSU/Alaska Anchorage game will take on a 1 seed in the championship game, either undefeated Lubbock Christian or Bentley. Lubbock Christian is ranked #1.

This is the second time GVSU Women's Basketball has made it to the Final Four. Their other appearance was in 2005-06. GVSU won the Division II National Championship that year.
