GRPD Reminds Us of Firework (and Firearm) Safety For NYE
The Grand Rapids Police Department is getting in on the kind of funny social media game for New Year's Eve with an infographic posted to Twitter Friday morning reminding citizens about firework and firearm safety.
According to the law, fireworks are permitted when celebrating the New Year. The law states that fireworks can be lit off the day before, the day of, and the day after a holiday. However, it's important to remember that you have to have all of your revelry done by 1 a.m.
Also, according to the GRPD, we should remember that "any word that has 'fire' in it does not mix well with alcohol or children."
When it comes to firearms, police gave a quick reminder of the laws of gravity, and also a tip about how (or where) to carry said firearm.
