How Do You Grill Your Hot Dogs? This is the Best Way!
Grilling hot dogs over Memorial Day weekend is an American tradition. It seems simple enough. You put them on the grill, cook, slip them into a bun, add the condiments and eat. Simple!
Well, sort of, however, according to hot dog experts, there is a proper way to grill hot dogs to make them better than ever.
Yahoo.com/lifestyle writes there is, what they consider, a "best way" to cook hot dogs on the grill.

Yahoo.com/lifestyle reached out to Mike Williams, avid home cook and Vice President of Sales and Marketing at grill company Kenyon, and Ashley Lonsdale, ButcherBox Chef-in-Residence, recipe developer, and Substack author for advice, and here is what they both agree on:
“Turn your grill to the highest setting and grill the hot dogs directly over the heat, turning frequently to brown them evenly,” advises Williams. Turning the franks when cooking over high heat also prevents them from splitting, maintaining their juiciness. This trusted method allows the outsides of the hot dogs to blister and crisp without drying out. If you’re looking to further the char, Williams suggests that you “score the dog a little bit [by making] small slits or cuts along the length of the hot dog, which allows for more surface area to get really crispy.”
They both recommend buying the best hot dogs you can.
Sure it can get a bit pricier, but the better quality of the dog the better the bite. 100% beef they say is the best, hopefully grass fed and without antibiotics or hormones so that hot dog meal will be wonderful.
So, there you go. Happy, healthy and delicious Memorial Day!
