Grandville High School Wins Division 1 Competitive Cheer State Championship
The Michigan High School Competitive Cheer State Finals were held at Delta Plex in Grand Rapids last weekend.
Grandville took first place in Division 1.
Comstock Park, Kenowa Hills, and Thornapple Kellogg also had strong showings.
Grandville;s competitive cheer tean has a history of success, with state championships in 1997, 1998, 2004, 2008 and 2011. Grandville has also finished as state runner-up eight times since 1994, including last year.
This year, Grandville beat runner-up Rochester 786.80-785.34 to take home the Division 1 title.
In Division 2, Thornapple Kellogg finished fifth and Kenowa Hills was sixth.
Comstock Park was fourth in Division 3.
