With 5:00 remaining in Game 3 of the Calder Cup Finals the Grand Rapids Griffins and Syracuse Crunch were tied 2-2.

Grand Rapids took a 3-2 lead with 4:49 left, then added another to secure a 4-2 win and a commanding 3-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Griffins are just one game away from history.

The Griffins had never been to the Calder Cup Finals. Now just one win stands between them and the trophy.

Wednesday's crowd of 10,102 at Van Andel Arena was the largest in Griffins' AHL playoff history.  That record will be broken on Friday.  Friday's game is already a sellout with 10,834 ready to attend.

Game 4 is Friday night at Van Andel Arena at 7:00pm.

Game 5 is Saturday night at Van Andel Arena at 7:00pm (if necessary).

Things are looking good for the Griffins, but still some work to be done!
