Grand Rapids Griffins Advance To Calder Cup Finals

The Grand Rapids Griffins earned a thrilling 5-4 victory at Van Andel Arena Wednesday night to gain a birth in the Calder Cup Finals!

The Grand Rapids Griffins and the Oklahoma City Barons met in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday night in Grand Rapids.  The game was tied 3-3 at the beginning of the third period.

Oklahoma scored next, the Griffins answered, then the Griffins scored again with 6:12 left and held on for the 5-4 win.

The Griffins will move on to face the Syracuse Crunch in the Calder Cup Finals.  This will be the first appearance in the Calder Cup Finals for both teams.

Games 1 and 2 will take place Saturday and Sunday in Syracuse.

• Game 6 - Tuesday, June 18 at Syracuse - 7:00pm (if necessary)
• Game 7 - Thursday, June 20 at Syracuse - 7:00pm (if necessary)
