Orkin just released their latest report on Bed Bugs, and I find we have a big problem in Grand Rapids and other Michigan cities!

Bed Bugs are that awful little critter that has "survived for the past 20,000 years" Orkin says, sneaking around trying to find a nice human to bite. They are the vampires of bugs because they can't survive without human blood. Yuck!

These little night-time "buggers" just love to come out and bite us while we are sleeping, mostly in hotel rooms, but probably our homes, too. They love to hitchhike in your luggage while you are traveling.

So, it's a not very exciting to announce that Grand Rapids ranks number 7 in the country in Orkin's report of the Worst Cities For Bed Bugs.

Of course we are not alone here in Michigan. Detroit ranks #3, Flint is #16, and Lansing is #48.

The top five for Worst Cities For Bed Bugs in the U.S. are Chicago coming in at a prized spot of number 1. They are followed by Cleveland at number 2, Detroit at 3, followed by L.A. at number 4 and Indianapolis at number 5.

These figures, Orkin says, are "based on treatments from May, 2024 to this past May, 2025."

Michigan's Falls may be filled with color, but while we're looking up and admiring the trees, bugs are slipping in through tiny little crevices in your home that are essentially little welcome mats for the state's top 5 winter pests.
