The owners of The Grove, an award winning, intimate dinning restaurant in Grand Rapids for several years, have decided that with the COVID19/Coronavirus stay home, stay safe orders, the concept wouldn't work anymore. So, the very tough decision was made to rebrand the restaurant with a totally new concept. What's next?

Say hello to Jimmy Berger’s Chicken Shack! The concept had been in the works, but it was fast-tracked when it became clear that the coronavirus would have a major impact on dining habits, especially for intimate venues such as Grove. As of today, Grove is closed. Jimmy Berger’s will open May 1 as a pop-up takeout concept.

Essence Restaurant Group, owners of not only The Grove, but The Green Well in East Hills and the flagship Bistro Bella Vita in downtown, said for one thing, The Green Well and Bistro Bella Vita will remain the same, full service, and reopen when it is safe to do so.

For the time being, Jimmy Bergers will be carryout only; however, once the stay-home order has lifted, Jimmy Berger’s plans to offer limited, fast-casual seating and catering. Although some information is still being finalized, customers can learn more about the restaurant at jimmybergers.com.
