Giving Tuesday Events in West Michigan

The craziness of Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the holiday shopping season is being offset today by Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to take a break from shopping and help local organizations to raise money. Many groups in West Michigan are holding special Giving Tuesday events today.Here is a partial list of the many ways to show support on Giving Tuesday:

Kids' Food Basket

• Kids' Food Basket employees are matching every donation today, up to $5,000. 

Gilda's Club Grand Rapids

• Michigan Blood is holding a blood drive and will give $5 to Gilda's Club for each donor. See additional opportunities.

Salvation Army of Kent County

• Up to $30,000 in donations to their Red Kettle campaign will be matched today.

Catholic Charities of West Michigan

• Holding event at The B.O.B. today. Anyone who donates money, time or food will receive 20 percent off.
