Tonight is a great night for the whole family at the UICA, and, it all FREE!
They're calling it "Meet the Cultura Collective," a full evening of family-friendly activities, panel discussions, and performances that initiate conversations about race and identity in our community. And, for the "big kids" in the crowd, a cash bar serving beer and wine will be available from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.

From 5:00 - 6:30 pm there will be hands-on art making activities led by Cultura Collective. Create a work of art that incorporates themes of identity and diversity using the materials provided in The Studio. Learn about how to have conversations with kids about identity using art as a tool. This activity is designed for children 1 - 10 years old but can be enjoyed by all ages.

From 6:45 - 7:00 pm, there is a panel discussion led by Steffanie Rosalez. Learn about the work being done by the collective to support creative persons of color in our city and the collective’s impact on Grand Rapids’ art scene.

From 7:00 pm, 8:10 pm there will be an original, contemporary dance performance by Visions Dance Company. A digital version of the performance will be added to the traveling exhibition, Organize Your Own, curated by Daniel Tucker and on view now at UICA.

So much more, and so much fun for all ages at the UICA tonight, and, it's FREE.
