Mitch Albom's play 'Ernie', which is based on the life of Ernie Harwell, will make its West Michigan debut this September. The play will open on September 12 at Wealthy Theatre.

Opening day performances will include special appearances by nine former Detroit Tigers.  We have the names of those players.

Mlive.com reports:

Grand Rapidian Mickey Stanley, an Ottawa Hills High School graduate who played on the 1968 World Series champion team, will be among the nine. Joining him will be '84 champions Dan Petry and Barbaro Garbey; Scott Lusader and Thomas Timmerman; and Michigan natives Howard Bailey, Rick Leach, Larry Pashnick and Pat Sheridan.

Opening day show tickets are $250.  Tickets include a meet-and-greet with Mitch Albom and the former Detroit Tigers players, plus dinner at the Amway Grand.  The show will help to raise funds for Hospice of Michigan's Open Access program.
