As our national and Michigan economy is re-opening, amid the coronavirus pandemic, and unemployment benefits are starting to come to an end, a lot of people are trying to figure out what’s next; especially if they lost their job because of the pandemic. So it could come as a bit of good news that so many fast-food restaurants have been announcing that they’re about to hire hundreds of thousands of employees throughout the US.
WZZM reports that McDonald’s and Subway are the latest fast food places to announce their hiring joining Taco Bell, Panda Express, and Dunkin' who already announced that they are planning to beef up their workforce.
The WZZM story says the Subway restaurant chain is planning to add around 50,000 jobs throughout North America and McDonald’s is looking to hire 260,000 new employees throughout the summer.
Currently, according to the Department of Labor, the U.S. unemployment rate is at 13.3%.  So any job opening or job fair announced is great news.
All of the fast-food locations mentioned told WZZM that interested job applicants should apply on their respective restaurant websites.
