Enjoy Michigan’s Fall Colors
Make sure during your busy schedule to take the time to enjoy Michigan's fall colors.
I'm lucky in one way -my long drive gives me a chance every day to check out the fall colors Michigan has to offer. I have a long drive so I try and make the most of each day looking at the colors and watching out for deer, turkeys and the occasional coyote.
You really don't have to go very far to enjoy the colors. Most parks in West Michigan are covered in trees and if you pick a road in any direction around here, you will see the fall effect.
The last couple of days I have noticed a change and so the next few weeks will have really great opportunities to see some great colors.
A great way to social distance with those in your bubble, get in your vehicle and head a little north on U.S. 131. It starts looking amazing as soon as you get past Comstock Park. You can really see some amazing sights if you drive past Big Rapids. That is where you really get in to the rolling hills of Michigan, plus the freeway is up high so you can see for quite a distance.
For those that ride motorcycles, those side roads that run parallel to U.S. 131 or M-37 may get you a closer look plus less traffic. Looking at the extended weather report, if you bundle up, there is still plenty of good riding left.
