The City of Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Department shares that work at Nagold Park at 1001 Fourth St NW is almost done!

Back in December, we learned that Nagold Park would be getting a makeover, thanks to a voter-approved parks millage.

The Parks and Rec department says the the 0.7-acre mini park, tucked between houses and without amenities since the 1970s, had been "underused for decades".

Upgrades to Nagold Park include:

  • New park signs
  • Accessible paved entryways on 4th Street and Nagold Street
  • New benches and picnic tables
  • Pollinator garden
  • Replaced fencing
  • Public art on the existing electrical boxes.

They also removed invasive plant species, extended the sidewalks, and added trash receptacles.

As of Friday, June 24, GR Parks and Rec says work is nearly complete, there are just a few more pollinator plants that need to go in.

The design team behind Grand Rapids' Nagold Park is is OCBA and the contractor is Wyoming Excavators, Inc.
