Been looking to bring a furry family member into your home? Now is the time!

You'll find reduced adoption fees at Bissell's Empty the Shelters Event this weekend.

“More pets run away on the 4th of July than any other day of the year,” saysCathy Bissell, Founder of BISSELL Pet Foundation. “The increase in shelter intake puts pressure on our partners, who are already working with limited staff and funding due to COVID-19. The best way for us to support them is to help their pets find loving homes.”

You can adopt a pet from more than a dozen participating locations in Michigan for $25 or less and Bissell Pet Foundation will sponsor the remainder of the adoption fee starting Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July.

All of the animals up for adoption are micro-chipped and spayed or neutered.

If you are interested in adopting, head here to find an adoptable animal at a participating shelter near you. Shelters are working with interested adopters to schedule meet and greet appointments that follow local COVID-19 guidelines.

During the COVID-19 pandemic alone, 6,231 pets were adopted during two Empty The Shelter Events executed by appointment only. Let's continue that awesome work this weekend and help get more animals into loving homes!
