It's the first of the year, and there must be some awards to hand out somewhere, I'm pretty sure.

Absolutely!  The Golden Globes have been awarded, the Academy Awards announced their nominations, and last Thursday, the Critics' Choice Awards were handed out.  How did I miss that?Believe me, if you blink, you'll miss an awards show, they come so fast.  But, yes, the Critics' Choice Awards were, in fact, this past Thursday night.  So, in case you missed them, here is what happened.

Gravity was the big winner at Thursday's Critics' Choice Movie Awards, taking home seven trophies, including Best Director for Alfonso Cuarón, Best Sci-Fi/Horror Movie and Best Actress in An Action Movie for Sandra Bullock. Bullock dropped an f-bomb in accepting, saying, “What the f***?” in reaction to a loudspeaker that accidentally played a snippet of a promo for the show.

American Hustle nabbed four awards, including Best Acting Ensemble, Best Actress in a Comedy for Amy Adams and Best Comedy. Bradley Cooper dropped another f-bomb in accepting the latter, referring to his cast-mates as “f***ing actors.”

12 Years a Slave got three wins, including the big Best Picture prize, as well as Best Supporting Actress win for Lupita Nyong'o.

Dallas Buyers Club took home two acting wins -- Best Actor for Matthew McConaughey and Best Supporting Actor for Jared Leto.

Leonardo DiCaprio nabbed Best Actor in a Comedy for The Wolf of Wall Street.
