UPDATE - Interlochen has sent us the following statement regarding this report:

Jeffrey Epstein was a camper at the National Music Camp at Interlochen in the summer of 1967, and a donor to Interlochen from 1990 to 2003. His most significant gift was to fund the construction of a cabin on campus, owned by Interlochen, but named for him (“The Epstein Lodge”) for which the rental proceeds would benefit scholarships.

When Interlochen administration learned of his conviction in Florida, the cabin was renamed “The Green Lake Lodge,” and all tangible donor recognition for Mr. Epstein was removed from campus. There is no record that Interlochen had any contact with him following his arrest in the Florida charges in 2007.

We have no record of any complaint ever lodged about Mr. Epstein at Interlochen. Our policies, both presently and during the time in which Mr. Epstein was an active donor, do not permit  unsupervised contact between students and donors. We are committed to ensuring a safe, nurturing environment in which our students can excel. Their safety and well-being remain our priority.

ORIGINAL REPORT: The billionaire, who faces charges of sexual trafficking involving underage girls, may have been trolling the north woods for some of them.

Epstein attended the Interlochen Fine Arts Camp in Northern Michigan when he was younger, and donated a substantial amount of moneyto the camp, giving him access to a cabin on the premises, close to a girls camp.

The Daily Beast is reporting the 66 year old financier listed the lodge in his 'little black book', which also connected Epstein to well known names such as President Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton, famed lawyer Alan Dershowitz, and rocker Courtney Love among others.

According to the story, the book also contained the names of at least two former arts students at Interlochen.

The Daily Beast said Epstein attended the camp in 1967 taking lessons in bassoon and orchestra. He returned as an alumnus and had access to a cabin on the property.

The report goes on to include a charge leveled by one of his alleged victims:

The mother of soap opera actress Nadia Bjorlin claimed Epstein targeted her daughter when she was a 13-year-old student at Interlochen in 1994.

“She was at school at the famed Interlochen Music Center in Michigan when she met Epstein,” Fary Bjorlin told The Daily Mail in 2011, adding, “My daughter was a singer. She was a baby. She was a skinny little girl, not mature for her age. She was 13, but everyone thought she was nine or ten.”

Fary said she believed Nadia was an easy target for Epstein because the girl’s father, classical conductor Ulf Bjorlin, died the year before. “Epstein was a big donor and he heard about Nadia and that her father had died, so she was vulnerable, and he contacted her. He said, ‘Here’s my number,’ Fary said, according to The Daily Mail.

Asked about Fary’s claims, Laidlaw said, “I can verify that Nadia Bjorlin is an alumna of Interlochen Arts Camp. We have no information about the events that have been reported in this article. As stated, we have no record of any complaint raised against Mr. Epstein at Interlochen.”
