Sports teams aren't the only state champions here in West Michigan. We have some of the best High School Marching Bands in the state, too.

Three high-school bands from West Michigan captured state titles at Saturday's Michigan Competing Band Association state finals at Ford Field, Fox 17 reported. We're so proud of you!

Rockford won the state championship in Flight 1, Jenison in Flight 2 and Kent City in Flight 5.

The MCBA features competition among schools from around the state in five classes based on school size.

Jenison's band came home with their trophy to a police and fire escort while community members lined the streets Saturday night.

Rockford was the best over nine other schools statewide in Flight 1. Jenison beat out nine other schools in Flight 2 as well, and Kent City captured their championship over 10 other schools in Flight 5.

But, you know what? High School bands here in West Michigan don't take a back seat to anyone. The other West Michigan bands in the state wide competition finished very well, too. A big congratulations and High Five's to:
