Canadian-Made Mask First To Successfully Deactivate Coronavirus
With mask mandates becoming more and more common, many people are arguing that masks aren't even very effective at mitigating the spread of coronavirus and COVID-19. Well, a new mask from a Canadian company, I3 Biomedical Inc., has been proven to be 99% effective at eliminating the virus when it comes into contact with the mask.
In a study conducted by the University of Toronto, scientists found "that the novel coating deactivated more than 99 percent of SARS-CoV-2 within minutes". The new mask are already in high demand and many of those masks will likely be prioritized for health care workers, but this new technology looks to be very promising.
The masks are currently for sale on the Canadian website Well.ca, but due to high demand they are currently sold out. It's probably safe to assume that more companies will soon be able to manufacture these face coverings.
