Brewery Vivant Celebrates Fat Tuesday with Fat Paczki Beer Release

Paczki, gumbo, jambalaya and now Fat Paczki beer.

Thanks to Brewery Vivant in Grand Rapids, there is a new entry into the list of must-have food and drink on Fat Tuesday.

Brewery Vivant announced the release on its Facebook page this morning.

Fat Paczki is an ale brewed with prunes and powdered sugar.

The drink is a limited-release brew with 20 barrels -- about 40 kegs -- being made.

The beer is to be available on draft and in 16-ounce cans at Brewery Vivant, 925 Cherry Street SE in Grand Rapids. The special brew is not expected to last long.

Kate Avery, marketing at Brewery Vivant, says there's been a lot of excitement around today's release.

"It's hard not to get excited about Paczkis here in Michigan on a day like today!" she said.

Today's hours at Brewery Vivant are 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. EST.
