Aaron Hernandez Found Guilty of First-degree Murder
Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been found guilty of first-degree murder.
A Massachusetts jury has found that Hernandez killed Odin Lloyd on June 17, 2013. He was found shot six times in an industrial park less than a mile from Hernandez's home.
Hernandez was still playing for the Patriots at the time of the murder.
Hernandez's lawyer did admit during closing arguments that Hernanzez was present when Lloyd was killed. However, he said that the shooting was committed by Hernandez's two friends.
Prosecutors said Hernandez planned the murder and aided in the attempt to cover it up.
The first-degree murder conviction carries a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
