Happy to see gas prices coming down. Can you believe we are happy with $3.90 gas. There are those who say the government isn't doing all it can to bring prices down because higher pump prices mean more gas tax money to Lansing. I don't know if that is true. Is the gas tax a fixed amount -- like X cents per gallon, or is the gas tax a percentage of each gallon. I don't know, but gas taxes are used to rebuild and repair our roads. Like everything else in our world, the gas tax doesn't bring in enough money -- regardless of how it is collected. In order to collect more money, check out this concept of charging us a "per miles driven" tax.
