The annual Coast Guard Festival kicks off in Grand Haven this weekend. There are also stage productions, concerts, the Picnic Pops, a Car Show, Baseball, Paddling down the River, a colorful fun and amateur boxing. Whew! Another fun packed weekend with something for everyone! Get out there and enjoy this final weekend of July.

Some activities include the kids, while others are more for the adults.

    The festival will feature tribute bands, ship tours, card board boat races, flea markets, parades, fireworks, a downtown carnival and much more! This weekend’s events include Crush - a Bon Jovi tribute band on Friday night. On the schedule for Saturday are the Kid’s Parade, Cardboard Boat Races and a Cruise-In Car Show.     The West Michigan Whitecaps take on the Lake County Captains on Friday. It will be Superhero Night! It's a bird, it's a plane, no, it's Superhero Night. Dress up and get your picture taken with the Superheroes. On Saturday, the Whitecaps kick off a 4 game series with the South Bend Cubs. At the game on Saturday, there will be a 2006 Replica Championship Ring Giveaway for the first 1,000 fans through the gate. BirdZerk! Will be making an appearance. There will also be Family Fare Fireworks after the game. And on Sunday, it is Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Family Day. The first 1,000 kids eat free! Fans can get autographs and play catch on the field before the game from 1:15-1:30 pm. Kids Run the Bases after the game presented by Milk Means More.
