Vegas excitement is coming this week to the DeVos Performance Hall stage.

The Fox Pops Concert Series of the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra kicks off Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5, 6 and 7, with the music of Vegas and the Rat Pack.

It will be a great night of nostalgic classic hits of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr, Keely Smith, Louis Prima, Peggy Lee, Wayne Newton and more.

Matt Catingub leads the orchestra with all of the favorites of the Vegas/Rat-Pack era.  And, not only does he conduct, he arranges, composes, sings and plays multiple instruments.  Other than that, he doesn't do much.

Catingub grew up in the entertainment scene, during the Rat Pack era.  His mother was Jazz vocalist Mavis Rivers, the first female artist Sinatra signed to his renowned Reprise label.

Joining Matt with the Grand Rapids Symphony is vocalist Anita Hall, and drummer Steve Moretti.

What a great concert it's going to be.  You'll hear SWELL PARTY/FRANK SINATRA & BING CROSBY , A LOT OF LIVIN' TO DO/SAMMY DAVIS JR. , WHAT KIND OF FOOL AM I/SAMMY DAVIS JR., HEY BIG SPENDER/PEGGY LEE , DANKE SCHOEN/WAYNE NEWTON, THAT'S AMORE/DEAN MARTIN , EVERYBODY LOVES SOMEBODY/DEAN MARTIN, I'VE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN/FRANK SINATRA, and so many more.

The Fox Pops symphony series is a 6-concert series. Other concerts this season include: Sounds of Simon and Garfunkel, Nestle Gerber Holiday Pops, Broadway Rocks, Celtic Fiddle with Eileen Ivers, and Cirque Mechanics.
