Zimoun's entry into ArtPrize Eight has one of the longer names of this fall's competition, "250 prepared ac-motors, 325kg roof laths, 1.0km rope." It's also one of the loudest entries with 250 motorized wood beams repeatedly striking the floor at SiTE:LAB on Rumsey Street.

The winners of ArtPrize Seven were announced tonight at The Grand Rapids Civic Theatre.
Two $200,000 Grand Prizes were awarded.
The Public Vote winner was Loveless PhotoFiber's "Northwood Awaking." The Jury Award winner is Kate Gilmore's "Higher Ground."
Kate Gilmore's "Higher Ground" is nominated in the Time-Based category on the Jurors' Shortlist. The ArtPrize Seven entry also appeared in the Public Vote Top 25, but didn't make it to the final round.

It takes thousands of volunteer hours to make ArtPrize a success. Some volunteers work directly for ArtPrize, some for venues, others assist artists.
Kate Gilmore's "Higher Ground" has a very unique volunteer opportunity.
Gilmore needs women to wear white dresses and swing for one-hour shifts.
With 1,550 entries at over 160 venues, it's nearly impossible to see everything at ArtPrize Seven.

SiTE:LAB is an all-volunteer organization which creates temporary site-specific art. Its venues at ArtPrize have been award-winning.
Now, SiTE:LAB is set to begin a two-year project with the City of Grand Rapids and Habitat for Humanity of Kent County called the Rumsey Street Project.
