School funding keeps getting harder and harder to find. Once the academic part is taken care of, schools are left to their own devices, so to speak, to come up with funding for sports, music, art, and other extra curricular activities.
More than 40 teams will play on the frozen surface at Richmond Park in Grand Rapids starting Friday night (Jan. 23) and running through Sunday, Jan. 25. Division finals will be the afternoon of Jan. 25.
Big CONGRATULATIONS to Grand Rapids City High Middle school. City High Middle has been ranked the 21st most challenging high school in the Midwest by The Washington Post. It is ranked the 4th most challenging in the state and is among the top 2% of high schools in the country.
As we were learning the Top 10 Finalists in ArtPrize Sunday, we also heard that a Grand Rapids Public Schools senior’s abstract painting depicting renewable energy sources has earned him a $1,000 college scholarship and prominent display of his creation in downtown Grand Rapids as ArtPrize heads into its final week.
