It may have been 500 years, but we may be able to come together.

Are you from the east side of the state and planning on moving to West Michigan? Or maybe you know someone who's going to make the move? I'm from the metro-Detroit area, and have lived there for most of my life, but I've been living in West Michigan for over 4 years now and just cuz we're all from the same state doesn't mean there aren't differences...

Early Sunday morning, two churches in the Hudsonville area were vandalized. WZZM-13 reports that after receiving tips from the public, three teenagers are being investigated: A 16-year old of Georgetown Township, a 15-year-old girl of Georgetown Township, and a 13-year-old.

Where were you around 12:25p.m. Saturday? Did you feel a weird rumbling/ quaking? I've heard some interesting tales of what people thought it was-- a car accident, odd thunder on an otherwise gorgeous and sunny day, houseguests wrestling in another room (this comes from my little brother who's 24, for which that would be a totally normal thing). St. Mary Magdalen church in Kentwood was destroyed by fire in July of 2012. Construction of the new church began in May. Supporters gathered this morning as the cross was placed on the steeple of the new church.

St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Kentwood was destroyed by fire in 2012.  Fireworks are suspected to have been the cause of the fire. Hundreds gathered this week as rebuilding began.

Saturday night's fire at Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Kentwood almost completely destroyed the church. Tuesday night, Kentwood Fire Chief Brent Looman issued a statement saying "fireworks were a likely factor". This weekend, Mass will be celebrated at the East Kentwood High School Auditorium. Bishop Walter Hurley says the church will be rebuilt.

I was talking to a friend of mine a couple days ago who said she couldn't count the number of people who came up to her and tried to run the "smudge" of dirt off her forehead.  She was kind of laughing about it because she had to stop them and say, "No, it's there because it's Ash Wednesday, you know Lent!"

A woman by the name of Chris Willis in Grand Haven read about a sad situation on one of the social media sites.  Instead of thinking to herself, "That's a sad story", she realized that she could do something about it so she did! Muskegon Heights Edgewood Elementary School were lacking the basic necessities it took for the teachers to do their job...

I had the pleasure of interviewing Rob Bell a number of years ago.  I was also at his "Love Win's" book signing at the Barnes & Noble in the Woodland Mall last year.  As you might be able to tell I enjoy Rob Bell, I admire his ability to make people feel something!  ...

This is very funny.  Some churches really do have a sense of humor.  At least the Catholics do.
