The second annual Byron Rec Comic Con is Saturday in Byron Center. The event is family-friendly and free for all to attend.

The Limited is closing all stores nationwide. The Tanger Outlet store in Byron Center is already closed. Both the Woodland Mall and the Kalamazoo locations will be open for the final time on Saturday, January 7.

Stolen political signs are being reported across the country and in West Michigan. The owner of a stolen Trump sign in Byron Center left a message for the thief.

Schools in Byron Center, East Grand Rapids, Grand Haven and Hudsonville are among a select group being honored as 2016 National Blue Ribbon Schools. Thirteen schools in Michigan earned the honor along with a total of 279 public and 50 private schools nationwide.

The Van Singel Fine Arts Center just announced an UNFORGETTABLE series of shows featuring three national touring musicals, four great concerts and a fun family comedy for their 2016-17 season.

The Van Singel Fine Arts Foundation presents one of Van Singel's favorite groups, Glenn Bulthuis and Friends, returning on Saturday, June 18th at 7:30 p.m. to perform the "Music of Simon and Garfunkel". Glenn and his 12 piece band will play 26 Simon and Garfunkel classics.

One night, and one night only, the Van Singel Fine Arts Center will host “DRIVING MISS DAISY,” the Pulitzer prize-winning comedy-drama written by Alfred Uhry. And, it reunites TV stars Sheree Wilson and Clarence Gilyard, both of “Walker Texas Ranger” fame.

Last weekend's most impressive buzzer beater and celebration was in Grand Rapids. 17-year-old Special Olympics athlete Walter Alvesteffer hit a buzzer beater then did a flip to pump up the crowd. Detroit Piston Andre Drummond and former Piston Rick Mahorn have both tweeted about the play and celebration.
