University of Michigan men's basketball players Glenn Robinson III and Nik Stauskas are forgoing their last two years of eligibility to enter the NBA Draft.

Michigan Coach John Beilein announced their decisions in a news conference Tuesday. Both are sophomores, with Robinson from St. John, Ind., and Stauskas from Mississauga, Ontario.

"In a very short period of time, these two young men have had a very positive impact on the Michigan basketball program," Beilein said. "From day one, Glenn and Nik have had the right attitude and work ethic that has helped us enjoy so much of our recent success."

Stauskas said: "For as long as I can remember I have had a goal of playing in the NBA, whether it was on my backyard court or winning the Big Ten title at Crisler Center. Following some heartfelt discussions with my family, Coach Beilein and the rest of the coaching staff, I am ready to pursue my goals and begin my NBA career."

He added his appreciation that U-M helped prepare him "for this moment both on and off the court.

Robinson said: "I have thought a lot about the next step in my career over this past year. ... I feel the time is right for me to begin my professional career and declare for the NBA Draft. I am confident I have the work ethic, the talent and maturity to pursue this path successfully."

He added it "has truly been a blessing" to attend and play at U-M.

Stauskas, a 6-foot-6 guard, averaged 17.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 2013-14, earning Big Ten Player of the Year honors. Robinson, a 6-foot-6 forward, averaged 13.1 points and 4.4 rebounds the past season.

Robinson and Stauskas helped U-M go 59-17 overall and 27-9 in Big Ten play over the past two seasons. That success included Wolverines NCAA Final Four appearance in 2013 in losing to Louisville in the title game and winning the team's first outright Big Ten Conference regular-season title in 28 years.

They are fifth and sixth early-entry NBA departures since Beilein came to Michigan in 2007, joining Manny Harris (2010), Darius Morris (2011) and Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. (2013).

The 2014 NBA Draft is June 26 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and airs at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
