Margaritaville came to Las Vegas in a BIG...BIG...BIG way!

Jimmy Buffett was there for the Grand Opening of the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo.  And, of course, what does Las Vegas do better than anyone else?  They make it big.  Mararita's, that is.

The hotel wanted to set a Guinness World Record by making the largest margarita.  So, they created and certified "Lucky Rita," as the largest margarita ever made.  It was 31 feet tall, and had 8,500 gallons in the "Lucky Rita," and they hoped to serve 181,333 margaritas through October 23rd.

Of course, Jimmy Buffett had to serve the first ones.  He poured them out to members of the Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team, who will receive $5 from Margaritaville for every "Lucky Rita" gallon consumed through that Sunday.

No word on how many they finally served, but if they emptied "Lucky Rita," the Wounded Warriors would receive $425,000.  Just your average take in Vegas, right?
