Hudsonville’s “Art in the Park” in June

The Hudsonville Arts Council has set a date for their annual "Art in the Park" event.   It will be on June 9, 2012 from 9am to 3pm.  It also moves this year to a new location, Hughes Park.

The Arts Council is now looking for artists and crafters to fill the 50+ booths available.  In addition, they'll welcome  food vendors, entertainers, sponsors, and demonstrators.

Art in the Park is an event where artists can showcase their art, and the community can enjoy a family-friendly day in the park browsing the booths, watching performers on the stage, or even participating in hands on activities for kids.

Michelle Fare, Secretary of the Board of Directors, said “art is such a critical component to our society and how our community expresses itself.  This event allows our community members to participate in this conversation and we are excited each year to see how many artists there are in our community who come out to be part of the event.”

Also new to the event this year is a juried division.  The juried division will be judged during the event and one artist will receive an award for the ‘best of show’.
