Morgan Tuck, 4-time NCAA National Champion and WNBA star, is returning home, Grand Rapids, to serve as the keynote speaker for the Youth Inspires Hometown luncheon. Designed to motivate and inspire local youth and team leaders, the luncheon will be held on Wednesday, July 27 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the JW Marriott, 235 Louis St NW, Grand Rapids, MI, 49503.

Now in her first WBNA season, the former UConn women’s basketball standout is using the WNBA season break to meet with and help support Grand Rapids area students.

The Youth Inspires Hometown luncheon is a fundraising event for the City League Pride Group. Established in 2012 by graduates of the seven Grand Rapids high schools, the City League Pride Group’s mission is to provide the youth of Grand Rapids and surrounding areas with the opportunity to continue their education after graduating from high school through the provision of scholarships, mentoring, tutoring and family supportive services. At the luncheon, several students will receive scholarships to help them continue their education. To date, four students have received financial assistance with funds raised by City League Pride Group.

But speaking is not all Tuck will be doing while home. She will visit Dickinson School - GRPS (8:30 – 9:15 AM), Mr. B's Reading, Math & Basketball Camp (9:30 – 10:15 AM) and the Boys and Girls Club (10:30 – 11:15 AM). Tuck’s passion to inspire leadership in today’s youth has led her back to Grand Rapids to talk about teamwork, commitment to excellence, and how to strive for greatness in school, in sports and in life. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in International Business while winning NCAA National Championships with the UConn Women’s Basketball team four years straight.
