All of us at 100.5 The River and our Grand Rapids Townsquare Media family are so excited to be a part of this years downtown 4th of July Amway Family Fireworks. This years event, which will actually be on Friday, July 2, marks the sixth year of Amway’s sponsorship of the annual fireworks display, which promises to be bigger than ever before. As always, they will be at Ah-Nab-Awen Park, on the river in front of the Ford Presidential Museum. Of course, they're free and open to the public.

The celebration will kick off at 5:30 p.m. at Ah-Nab-Awen Park with family fun activities, games, food trucks and vendors exhibits and continue through the start of the fireworks display, which will start at 10:30 p.m.

There will be also be live music throughout the evening starting at 6 p.m. and continuing up until the 10:30 p.m. fireworks. All of us at TownSquare Media are coordinating the live entertainment and will announce the line-up in the coming weeks.

This year’s event, much like the previous events that Amway has been part of, will focus on celebrating family, freedom and community.

The Amway Family Fireworks is a great way for us to focus on the things that are important to us as a company: family, freedom and community. Amway does stand for the American way after all!” says David Madiol of Amway community relations. “We are looking forward to providing another great event for our community, and we’re excited to present a longer fireworks display with an amazing finish.”

Russ Hines, market president of Townsquare Media Grand Rapids, said, “It’s exciting to come together as a community to give families a place to enjoy and celebrate our nation’s independence."

Aside from Townsquare and Amway, this year’s sponsors and partners include the City of Grand Rapids, Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation, Dematic, Ionia Free Fair, Kodiak Construction, and D&W Fresh Market Picnic Pops.
