A Concert in the Studio on The River (video)

As I mentioned in a blog on Tuesday, the Grand Rapids Symphony kicks off their Fox Pops Concert Series this weekend with the music of Vegas, the Rat Pack, and more.

Matt Catingub, who will conduct the symphony for the concert, is a composer, arranger, singer, plays the piano, sax.....there is probably nothing he doesn't do in the world of music.

Blue Man Group Hits Grand Rapids for a Week Beginning September 25th

One of Grand Rapids "favorite sons," Sam Stryke, has what I think is a stunning entry in ArtPrize.

Sam, who lives in Chicago now, is a wonderful composer and performer who regularly comes back to Grand Rapids for concerts.

Remember, Sam composed the music for the famous Bud Light commercials....."hey, Mr. my shorts are too tight man," etc.

Not All ArtPrize Gems Are in the Central City

For the next two plus weeks, Grand Rapids will be swarmed by serious art lovers, the not-so serious art lovers, the curious, and who ever else falls into whatever category you can think of, during ArtPrize 2012.

With venues all over town it is always difficult to take in all of the creations, visual and audio, especially since there will be more than 1,500 artworks and 161 venues taking part.

ArtPrize Gets Kick Off Help From a Painting Pachyderm

ArtPrize 2012 is almost here.  Art works are being installed all over the city now, and excitement is building to see what is in store for this year.  There are always new additions and something fresh and exciting each year.

This year, it's kicking off in a BIG way. Asia, The Greatest Show on Earth’s Elephant Artist in Ringling, along with a dozen children from the Community Inclusion Group of the Grand Rapids-Kent County Convention/Arena Authority (CAA) will get it started.

Civic Theater and Circle Theater Offering 2 Great Shows at 2 Great Theaters for 1 Low Price
