The Grand Rapids Symphony has just announced the appointment of their Principal Pops Conductor, Mr. Bob Bernhardt!
Mr. Bernhardt has more than 30 years of experience as a conductor of popular and classical music. He is a frequent guest conductor of the Boston Pops and other leading orchestras. His unique perspective, dynamic musical abilities, and engaging personality will delight audience members of all ages. In addition to conducting numerous concerts each season, Bernhardt will be instrumental in planning and shaping the orchestra's pops programs.

He will work closely with leadership of the Symphony, including Associate Conductor John Varineau. Varineau will continue to lead a wide variety of the orchestra's performances each year.

Bob Bernhardt will be an integral part of the orchestra's Fox Motors Pops concerts, Nestlé Gerber SymphonicBoom and D&W Fresh Market Picnic Pops. Bernhardt first conducted the Grand Rapids Symphony in September 2013, leading the Boston Pops Tribute Show.

Bernhardt's debut concert as Principal Pops Conductor will be The Best of Broadway this March 13-15 at DeVos Performance Hall.
