It's a project that began in 1993 when Willie Baronet starting buying signs from the homeless due to the awkwardness he felt when pulling up to intersections. Later, he would travel the country buying the signs. Today, the collection has grown and there's a wall covered in homeless signs at ArtPrize 10.

There is no shortage of cleverness among the signs in Willie Baronet's US at Muse GR. The holder of the sign needs to grab your attention, so it's not surprising that some of the signs might make you smile, but most take a seemingly more honest approach to sharing the dire need for support for themselves and their family.

The volume of the signs is noteworthy, but this is only a sampling of the full collection which began 25 years ago and has been featured around the world as a project called WE ARE ALL HOMELESS and in a documentary called Signs of Humanity which goes further into the stories behind the people holding the signs.

See US at Muse GR at 727 Leonard St. NW in Grand Rapids during ArtPrize 10.
