The West Michigan Whitecaps are looking for ideas for new food items to be served at Fifth Third Ballpark this season. Beginning yesterday, fans can now submit their ideas regarding what new food items they would like to see served at Fifth Third Ballpark this summer.

This is the sixth year that food ideas submitted by fans will find their way onto the Fifth Third Ballpark menu. Past winners include the Declaration of Indigestion, Baco (a taco shell made of bacon), and last year’s winner, the Auger Dogger (a potato spiraled around a hot dog).

“This has become a fan favorite,” said Jason Brower, Whitecaps Fan Engagement & Social Media Coordinator. “It’s a promotion our fans and the foodies in the area look forward to every year. They try to come up with the next big food item for us. It’s great to see the creativity.”

Submissions will be taken through Friday, February 6. They can be made through the Whitecaps facebook page (facebook.com/wmwcaps), twitter account (@wmwhitecaps) or via e-mail at playball@whitecapsbaseball.com. All submissions should be accompanied by a complete description and a picture, if possible.

The food idea submissions will be whittled down, and starting Thursday, February 26, fans will be able to vote for their choice for the new 2015 concessions item. Voting will take place on the Whitecaps website, www.whitecapsbaseball.com. The winning entry will be on the menu for all fans to enjoy.

The Whitecaps open the 2015 season on Thursday, April 9 against the Dayton Dragons at 6:35 pm. Season and group tickets are now on sale; individual tickets will go on sale in February. Complete ticket information, including season and group ticket prices and perks, is available at www.whitecapsbaseball.com.
