American Idol’s Scotty McCreery is Number 1

I had a listener call this morning and ask about American Idol winner Scotty McCreery, and if he had a song or album out.  Are you kidding?  He sure does!

Better yet, last season’s winner lands at Number One on Billboard’s Top 200, selling 197,000 copies of Clear As Day, becoming the first Idol winner to take that spot since Ruben Studdard in December 2003.

Quite an accomplishment for such and young artist.  People love McCreery.  And he’s been putting out other singles,”I Love You This Big” immediately after the Idol finale last May, and “The Trouble with Girls” in August, so watch for more, probably closer to Christmas time.

By-the-way, it looks like Lauren Alaina, Idol’s Number Two last season, will follow McCreery next week.

Here’s Scotty’s “The Trouble With Girls.”  Enjoy!
