One of America's favorite comedians and Benton Harbor native, Sinbad, has been out of sight for a very long time and many are wondering where he has been because we miss him.

Sinbad, whos real name is David Adkins, was all over TV in the 80's. He played the coach in the series A Different World, a spinoff of the Cosby show, for four seasons.

He did comedy shows around the country, and was kind of a regular at Gilda's LaughFest in past years. But since 2020 he has been out of the public eye.

WHAT HAPPEND TO SINBAD?

Sinbad suffered a stroke in October, 2020, in case you don't remember. It was termed it was an ischemic stroke.

MSN.com reported:

"For the next several months, Sinbad moved through acute care facilities where he was weaned off the ventilator and eventually cleared to start intense therapy," his website said. "In May of 2021, he was admitted to California Rehabilitation Institute and began physical, occupational, and speech therapy. It was there Sinbad started to make considerable progress toward recovery."

The website continued:

"Survival odds from this type of event are approximately 30%." But Sinbad returned home in July 2021, and his progress was said to be "remarkable" as he began learning to walk again. "In his own words, 'I am not done. I will not stop fighting until I can walk across the stage again."

Hopefully Sinbad will be spinning his stories and jokes in the near future!
